Mood: Excited
Now reading: dunno yet, about to go for the shelves (listening to Oceansize)
Not the Gunpowder Plot, not do I intend taking over the world (Karen Miller already has, and I doubt she's going to let go of it). I mean I'm organising and pleating story threads for Book 3.
Not sure what I'll call the book yet. The working title was 'Waking Every God' but they've already been woken by the end of Book 2. Whoops. I'd like to call it 'The Reluctant God' but I know the publishers won't go for it. The title would make buyers reluctant.
Anyway. I did no plotting at all before Book 2, to ensure the story went in unexpected directions. Can't do that with this one: it has to arrive in a specific place. Now all I have to do is work out how the characters get there with maximum discomfort.
I know; I'll go take a Tranz Rail journey.
I rather like "The Reluctant God". Though I can't help thinking that if you've already woken all the gods, you could call it "Force-feeding the gods sleeping pills till they stop bugging me and let me get on with causing maximum angst to all my human characters."

Hmm....i rather think you may be giving away too much of the plot with that title. It certainly has made my eyes pop open.

Ah, but does it make you want to read it to confirm if your clever suspicions are true?

A competition to chose the title of book #3 yah a good idea :-)
Posted By Linda / Posted At 10/20/07 3:38 PM
Might be a very good idea, Linda. I'll think of some options.

If you run a competition, could you please have a prize for the most evil entry?

Someone's trying hard to make sure she wins the competition... Some people are just naturally more evil than others *g*!

I'm only Medi-evil - I just want to be entertained!

Russell, you couldn't stop me from wanting to read the book, no matter what you called it.

In your case Russ, I'd be willing to share ... *g*
Good luck with the whole plotting thang. I'll shortly be tackling my own book 3, and while I have some burblings happening in the back brain, much remains to be discovered.
Glenda's been raving about bk 2. Can't wait to read it!
I've decided to call it 'Don't Read This Book, Glenda'.
You have a back brain, Karen? Like the larger dinosaurs? You're right - much does indeed remain to be discovered.
Still thinking about how I might organise a competition to cause maximum chaos.

AND what would be first prize.....a trip to Sydney would be good :-)

Or some signed jellybeans.

Heh. Didn't you know? My middle name is Rex.
I *thought* of the jellybeans, but decided not to say anything...it hasn't been that long since the last, ever-so-subtle, reference to the non-appearance of said jellybeans! Of course, now that Gillian has brought it up, it isn't me who's nagging (ever the little follower, me!).
Posted By Jo / Posted At 10/23/07 4:49 PM
Right. The jellybeans will make an appearance. Just be patient. Not Gillian's speciality, patience.
Course I forgot.
Posted By Russell / Posted At 10/23/07 6:16 PM
I exist to help. Not Russell's speciality, memory.

Agreed!

Russell agrees with me then disappears from view. This is worrying.

Maybe he really did take a Tranz Rail journey and not only did they lose his luggage, they lost him as well??? Perhaps aliens have visited New Zealand and taken him with them to create new maps of their distant planet? Or Gillian has him drugged and tied to her tomato plant and is just querying his absence to cover her guilt??

Your first two suggestions aren't mutually exclusive, so it's probably that. Tranz Rail lost him and his luggage to aliens who need maps.

Sorry, I went on holiday, taking advantage of a window in my schedule to visit my youngest brother. New post tomorrow ...

How rude, taking a holiday without due notice... *grin* Hope you had fun.
