I made the front page of the WAIKATO TIMES with my window novel-writing stunt.
Thanks to Linda and the staff at Pennys for a successful promotion.

Yeah. I can see the images.
That suggestion of Ross's worked. Don't use the lj link come in through the home page.
Great publicity Russell. Are you going to do it again?
Phill.

I already put the link up Russell....dont you read the comments ghhheeezzzzz (In the nicest possible way of course)
Don't know you could possibly top that. Can't be done.
Could do some 'reality TV' and stay in there for an extended period of time ;)
Big Brother?
I read the comment, Linda, but I don't know how long the link will remain up. It's always safer to put the pic in if you want to keep it live.
I won't do it again in Hamilton, but there is some talk I might do it in Wellington. It would help publicise the NZ natcon.
Yeah, reality TV. We could do a Big Brother. Which author will be voted out of the window this week?

w00t! I think the answer to how you got into the window is that you walked through the glass. Special fantasy author powers'n'all.
If you did a Big brother version then everyone would be angling to be voted off after the first hour.

First hour, Gillian? Ten minutes more like. Russell, you have more guts than any other writer I know...and I love the thongs.
I am sure the "event" in the window of the bookstore in Wellington will go ahead. I feel sure that would bring a spot on National TV. The store suggeted is on the busiest corner in NZ with a huge traffic flow, by foot and wheels, unlike Pennys which is in a Mall in a suburb. Good luck to you Russell.....go get em!
Oh Russell I would like to remind you that I will be the go-between in this and unless my donkey has a bigger role then it might all fall thru. :-)

Russell - I've blogged about this here: http://aucklanderatlarge.blogspot.com/2007/03/russell-kirkpatrick.html
Good luck with the novel!
Jeremy.

Suddenly the donkey has a starring role in 'Dark Heart' (book 2). She will become the cherished possession of a raffish, dark-haired gentleman with smouldering good looks and a perpetual swagger. That good enough for you, Linda?
(I was crossing my fingers behind my back when I typed that.) (Er- that doesn't scan.)
What glass, Gillian?
Thanks, Glenda. And in most of the photos, you can see my guts fairly prominently.
Hi Jeremy! Thanks so much for the generous words on your blog. Do you remember how I banned cellphones, only to be interrupted in the last lecture - by my own phone?

Remember it? I tell the cell phone story to my undergrads!
The glass with no labels stuck on it, Russell.
Linda's about-to-be-owner sounds as if he imbibes too much. A bottle less a day would reduce that swagger significantly.

Oh no Gillian, Russell has the donkeys new owner just right....Its Captain Jack Sparrow...swoooon
Russell's next novel has donkey-owning pirates? Cool :).
Yes Gillian, Russell is branching out into fairytales....in a Mills and Boon kind of way :-)
Speechless, everytime I see a photo of it I laugh.
Oh no, Glenda. He wore the wrong kind of thongs!
I could be wearing the other kind ...
Please no...that's a mental image I didn't need before going to bed!!! (sorry Russell).
