My Good News

 16-Jan-2009

I alluded to the news in my last post. I've been told by my US publisher that my debut novel, 'Across The Face Of The World', is the US's best-selling debut fantasy/scifi novel of 2008.

Hard to believe that something written over twenty years ago could do so well. The second and third in the series have also sold well, so the news is good and getting better.

Funny how different markets have performed differently. Reviews and sales were mixed in Aust, poor in NZ, indifferent in the UK and great in the US.

Russell is officially happy.

That is outstanding! I'm away to spread the word!

Thanks, Grant!

Superb news! And it is funny about the tastes of different markets, isn't it? Of course, success in one market can lead to increased exposure in the other markets which in turn can lead to renewed interest... It's a funny world, but wonderful when it works! Well done, enjoy it! :D

Wow, that is just brilliant and not undeserved. Of course that now makes you an official tall poppy, so your sales locally will be even worse. Compensated for by being described as "tall" however.

Dude that's great! Well done.
All the best for the next project.
Am awaiting the 3rd Husk with a keeness.

Isn't there some quote about the prophet being unappreciated in his own land?

Well done Russell.

that is great news! Well done.

That is fantastic!!

Thank you everyone, that's really sweet, but Ross has hit the nail on the head. I'd swap it all for an extra couple of centimetres in height.

So, you really ARE shallow? Or should that be, should stay in the shallow end of the pool?????
